Return policy

At Designers Cove Interiors, we stand behind the quality of our workmanship and products. Because the majority of our items are custom-designed and handcrafted specifically for you, we have a clear and fair returns policy to ensure satisfaction while protecting the integrity of custom orders.

1. What Can Be Returned

  • In-stock, non-custom items only (such as certain fabrics, trims, hardware, accessories, or standard window treatment components).
  • Custom-made upholstery, furniture, window treatments, boat interiors, or any made-to-order items are not returnable once production has begun.

2. Return Timeframe

  • Returns for eligible in-stock items must be requested within 14 calendar days from the date of delivery or pickup.
  • After 14 days, no returns or refunds will be accepted.

3. Condition for Return

  • Items must be in original, unused, and resalable condition.
  • All original packaging, tags, and documentation must be included.
  • Installed items (window treatments, upholstered furniture, built-in seating, etc.) cannot be returned after professional installation.

4. Return Process

  1. Contact us by phone or email to request a return authorization (RMA) before shipping anything back.
  2. We will provide return instructions and a return address.
  3. For customer remorse (e.g., changed mind), the customer is responsible for shipping. For defective products, we cover the shipping.
  4. Once we receive and inspect the item, we will process your refund or exchange (if available).

5. Restocking Fee & Refund

  • Eligible returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
  • Refund will be issued to the original payment method within 7–10 business days after inspection and approval.
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
  • No refunds on custom orders, labor/installation fees, or special-order fabrics.

6. Warranty & Defective Items

  • Our 5-year workmanship warranty covers defects in our installation and custom fabrication.
  • Manufacturer warranties apply to fabrics, blinds, shades, shutters, and other supplied products.
  • If an item arrives damaged or defective, please notify us within 48 hours with photos. We will arrange repair, replacement, or refund at no cost to you (subject to manufacturer approval).

7. Exchanges

  • Exchanges are accepted only for in-stock items of equal or greater value (subject to availability and the 20% restocking fee on the original item).

8. Exceptions

  • Custom orders, made-to-order products, and personalized items are final sale and non-returnable.
  • Sale items, clearance fabrics, and discontinued products are non-returnable.
  • We reserve the right to refuse returns that do not meet the above conditions.
